Netiquette Rule #1: Spell check


Spell check and proofread all written internet communication because errors diminish the credibility of the message.

On the internet, grammar and spelling errors are common for many reasons. Better spelling, grammar, and punctuation help you communicate with more people because
more people can understand you. Therefore, it's good netiquette to use a spell check program because it makes your message easier to read.
It is good netiquette to look past any grammar errors when communicating on the internet because there are so many different reasons for them. Make a mental note of errors and keep reading. Grammar errors do mean something about the author and spell check programs are not perfect.

Reread text before you post or send it on the internet and apply appropriate editing based on the content and context of the message.
