Netiquette Rule #10: Use Discretion

Use discretion in everything you do on the internet. This includes creating social networking profiles and posting comments.

When you sign up for a social networking website you must complete a registration form. Fill out the required information and use the privacy controls to manage your online image. Understand, nothing is truly private on the internet.

Many people can access the internet from their cell phone. This means someone can check your social networking profiles during a conversation, real time. You can easily get called out about any discrepancies, unchecked facts, or half-truths.

Since every code is being created from scratch any programmer may be able to exploit the internet for user data from any website in a new way that has not been created yet. None of your data on the internet is safe or secure because it is impossible to test every possible hack.
